Alex FM and The Share Button Foundation are proud to announce the inaugural Menyonyo Festival, a dynamic community initiative aimed at celebrating culinary talent while making a meaningful impact on the lives of
children in need.
This collaborative effort underscores their shared commitment to giving back to the community and fostering positive change.
The Menyonyo Festival will feature a thrilling Chef battle, where four talented chefs will compete for the
championship title.
This exciting competition will take place at the Refilwe Legae Home, an orphanage located in Alexandra Township. Beyond showcasing culinary prowess, the event will serve as an opportunity for organizers to come together and support the children at the orphanage.
“We are thrilled to launch the Menyonyo Festival in partnership with The Share Button Foundation,” said
Takalane Nemangowe, Station Manager at Alex FM.
“This event embodies our station’s dedication to
community engagement and highlights the importance of giving back. We believe that by hosting this festival,
we can make a positive impact on the lives of children in our community,” he said.
In addition to the Chef battle, the Menyonyo Festival will include activities aimed at providing essential
resources and support to the children at Refilwe Legae Home.
“We are reaching out to sponsors to donate items
such as toys, stationery, and other necessities that will enhance the well-being of the children. Furthermore,
we are seeking financial contributions to cover expenses such as the cash prize for the competition winner, logistical arrangements, and other operational costs.
“We are excited to partner with Alex FM for the Menyonyo Festival,” said Karabo Masemola, Founder at The Share Button Foundation.
“This event aligns perfectly with our foundation’s mission to make a positive impact in the community. By coming together to support the children at Refilwe Legae Home, we are demonstrating
the power of collective action and compassion,” Masemola said.
