Community Development:
Tshepo’s passion for Alexandra Township was inspired by Richard Branson, who mentored him in his Philanthropy work. He was first introduced to giving back to the vibrant community through Virgin Unite many years ago! According to Tshepo, the show’s renewal is dedicated to Richard Branson & Virgin Unite.
“We certainly hope to work with them soon! As a volunteer on Alex FM, corporate support is vital in the work that we do,” he said.
Women Development:
Tshepo curated an all Women Show on March 8th, 2025 in honor of International Women’s Day. The Beat featured, among others, Bhoza Mphela, Talent Manager to the stars with over 20 years of experience working with musical legend DJ Ganyani.
Driving Inclusivity:
Once again Lord_Aluta, the innovative Radio talent Unleashed, a first for Radio, an LGBTQIA+ show dedicated to Pride Month in October 2024.
The vibrant show featured Dancer and Musician Delta The Leo, Aphelele Ngweduna (News Anchor – Alex FM), DJ Schizo, and Pride The DJ.
Tshepo was also invited by the Gauteng Department of Economic Development as a Speaker for their Men’s Conference in December 2024 to raise awareness about LGBTQIA+ issues in the workplace.
STAR Power:
Previous guest highlights on the show include of Bulelani Balabala (Township Entrepreneurs Alliance), Mzwandile Ngubeni, William Lehong, Matli Mohapeloa, Sonia Booth, and Ntsika of the Soil. Last Saturday, The Beat hosted Vele Manenje, an Award-winning actress, and also had an exclusive chat with trailblazers MOTLATSI Mafatshe and Gabi Tshabalala about their latest single ‘Ngiphelele Ngawe’ .
Recognition:
Tshepo Mathari has been nominated for the Founder of the Year awards (Foya) under the most promising founder of the year category. He is the founder of the ICT DYNAMIC WOMEN , an initiative powered by Telkom FutureMakers, Telkom Business, Absa, Edgars Beauty, Clarins, Henley Business School Africa and OPPO. An inspiring event which celebrates and acknowledges top ICT female leaders while driving inclusivity and women entrepreneurship development in the male-dominated industry. The second annual ICT Dynamic Women Luncheon will be hosted in August 2025 at The Radisson Blu Sandton Hotel, as part of Women’s Month celebrations.
