Police have arrested a 29-year-old man for sexual assault at Bekezela Squatter Camp at Carr Street this morning the 18th of July 2022.
It is alleged that the thug sexually assaulted a 20- year-old woman at Bekezela Squatter Camp on the 17th of July 2022 at 00:00.
Captain Xoli Mbele said the victim was sleeping with her 3-month-old daughter when she heard someone touch her thighs.
Mbele said when the woman opened her eyes, she recognized that it was one of her neighbours half naked.
“She screamed for help and he ran away,” said Mbele.
Mbele said investigation was underway and the suspect would appear soon in the Johannesburg Magistrate Court.
Johannesburg Central Station Commander Brigadier Perumal commended swift response by the police in the apprehension of the thug .
Perumal elaborated further that real men protect women.
