In celebrating Women’s Month, the Women Empowerment League (WEL) brought together more than 700 members of the Indian community from all over South Africa to the Castle Kyalami in Midrand to celebrate Women’s Month.
With the theme of the event being “Women Empowerment”, the event was attended by business leaders, community leaders, motivational speakers and support from the Consulate General of India’s Office.
The aim was to provide knowledge and opportunities for the upliftment of Women in the community.
The event started with a packed program ranging from motivational talks, presentations by community leaders, traditional Indian cultural music, dancing and an Indian fashion show.
One of the organizers of the event who was moved by the event said: “Thank you all for coming here to celebrate our culture.
“It is such a beautiful experience to see us all come together and support each other.”
All the attendees enjoyed the activities and the hospitality granted by the Church of Scientology at Castle Kyalami.
Mr. Praveer Tripathi, the President of India Business Forum was blown away by the professionalism and the venue.
“What an amazing place this is. And I love the hospitality here,” he said.
After the culturally enriched program in the main auditorium of the Castle, the audience moved to outdoor activities, where they were entertained by different stalls providing traditional Indian food, jewelry and fashion where many different cultural and family activities also took place.
The Director of the Women’s Empowerment League, Ms. Rashmi Haribhat, in closing her presentation said “most importantly today, I would like to thank our partners and supporters, the Church of Scientology”.
“They have been the most amazing hosts and partners, we have ever had.
“Your continuous support of the Indian community is incredible and we are extremely grateful. We are looking forward to working together for a long time to come!”
Mr. Suj Singh, Manager at an Indian online retailer said: “I am honored and happy to be at the Castle to celebrate this month.
“Your continuous support of the community is appreciated.”
The event ended on a high note with much cheering and dancing from the guests.
