ZIMBABWE MOURNS DEATHS OF 15 PEOPLE WHO DIED IN SEPARATE BUS ACCIDENTS IN SOUTH AFRICA

At least ten (10) people died in a bus accident, that took place at 3 Miles, on the N1 around Makhado.The bus was en-route to Johannesburg from Zimbabwe, when the accident happened just before midnight, on the evening of Tuesday, 27 August 2024.

The deceased, 5 males and 5 females, were reportedly foreign nationals.

According to reports, the bus drove over a round-about (the last traffic circle from Makhado towards Polokwane) at high speed, lost control and overturned, killing and injuring its passengers in the process.

The bus driver is reportedly new in his job, and not familiar with the surroundings.

At another horrific accident, a cross-border bus, which was reportedly travelling from Johannesburg to Zimbabwe overturned along the N1-north towards the Nyl Plaza, outside Mokopane, Limpopo around 17:30 on Sunday. Five people, one female and four males, lost their lives.

Scores of passengers have sustained injuries of varying degrees, in the process, and have been taken to hospitals in Mokopane.
